Back to school 2013

So last week Wednesday was back to school for the kiddos. This year we have 3 kids in 3 grades in 3 different sections but at the same school, which makes dropping off and fetching way easier. (You may or may not remember that we decided to keep Mr L in grade 00 and move Mr C to grade 0). It really went so very well - not one single tear, not one moment of clinging to mom. I think those prep days we had last year for the boys really worked wonders - they know which class they will be in and who will be their teacher. It really helps to put them at ease.

Our grade 2 though had to wait for the first day to find out. This year she was not disappointed. She got the teacher she wanted and has two of her closest friends in the class with her and one she is fast growing towards. (Her teacher is quite far along her 3rd pregnancy - so she only has one term with her - coming back the second term is one of the older teachers who was off for a brain operation - I am totally delighted that she will be with her for most of the year although not so happy about the two teachers in one year thing).

So how did back to school go in your household? Fine I hope.

  1. It sounds like things are off to a great start! We're still on a medical leave from school.

  3. No major drama for us either. Nicola is back with the same teacher as last year because the school decided to shuffle all the teachers. The teacher moved class with them.

Of course the first few days were a bit of an adjustment just getting back into the routine, but by the Wednesday it was smooth sailing again.

Your brood all look delighted with their new teachers. :-)

  4. All well in our school world. Polly delighted with her new teacher, and D in the top streamed class again this year. Another year of hard work ahead for her.

So glad to hear that there was no tears/drama especially with the boys being in different grades x

PS - HAve you read The light between Oceans - ML Stedman? A MUST read!

  5. I love the pics - kids are big and gorgeous and I'm so glad it's all working out :)

I'm amazed you're so sorted to get pics with the kids and teachers. Isn't it crazy at drop-off? By the way, that teacher does not look very pregnant at all :)

  8. Sounds like it went very well. I'm glad to hear that! I bet it's a relief.

I can't get over how much your C and L are so similar to my C and A across the opposite side of the globe. :-)

  9. Hope the first full week being back in school has gone well so far. And the kids are still happy with their classes and teachers?

They all are very happy in these pictures, guess after being home for some long they are only too happy to see their friends and get back into routine. Wish them a great year ahead.

    Have a nice weekend

  10. I'm loving the photos ... I just forget to take photos. I too was really surprised to see cosmos when we headed out to Magaliesburg for canopy tour.

Glad to hear all has been going smoothly ... my biggest stress was Jazz starting high school - so far, so good.

    Happy days
